Understanding and Working with …
(country- and region-specific workshops)
In this program Craig Storti helps participants understand and work more effectively with people from key cultural blocs—Asia/Pacific, Latin America (Hispanics), the Middle East and Indian subcontinent, and northern Europe—and/or individual countries. This program helps participants identify key cultural differences between their own and the target culture (or region) in such areas as:
Training topics include:
Business culture and business practices.
Communication style (verbal and nonverbal).
Manager/subordinate interactions.
Attitudes toward time, risk-taking, and decision-making.
Concepts of personal identity and rank and status.
Participants learn how their own culture’s view of these topics differs from that of the target bloc, as well as strategies for avoiding the most common clashes and misunderstandings and maximizing productivity. This workshop is based in part on Craig Storti’s book Understanding the World’s Cultures and also on The Art of Doing Business Across Cultures.
Excellent insights.
1st class workshop: we need more like this.
Wow! Every engineer should have this learning. I look back now on so many lost opportunities to connect and understand.
I will apply this content immediately; I’m actually going to look through some of my old emails where I know I was having difficulty getting my points across and see how I could have done better and what was too subtle for me that I missed.
Make it a two-day class, as the content was fabulous.
